Gym Quiz

A gym quiz with nine questions on which exercise works which muscle — the anatomy chart read from the weight-room floor.

What the nine questions pair up

Each of the nine questions names an exercise and asks which muscle it works. That is the entire format: exercise on one side, muscle name on the other, and your job is to make the match. Treat it as an anatomy exercise rather than a fitness quiz — the questions test whether you know the muscle behind the movement’s name, not how to train. There is no programming advice here, no technique talk, and nothing clinical; the exercises serve purely as prompts for the muscle names underneath them.

Gym vocabulary and textbook vocabulary overlap less than people assume, and this set lives exactly in that gap. It makes a sharper exercise quiz than either vocabulary alone would.

The verification behind the key

Every pairing in this quiz was written down twice before being asked once. Two authors independently worked through the same fixed catalog of 200 keys — the full question list plus the structured tables backing it — and the finished copies were compared value against value. The count came back 200 matches out of 200. Cross Section asks a question only when both authors, separately, recorded the same answer; any entry that fell short of that bar was dropped rather than asked on faith.

How it plays

Four options per question, graded the instant you pick one, with the correct muscle shown whether you hit or missed. After the ninth question the page walks you back through the full round for review. Your best score is saved in your browser, and there is no signup and nothing to download — the quiz runs in the page and is yours to retake indefinitely.
